Terms of Service

1. Acceptance and Scope

By creating an account, using the website, browsing public profiles, posting requests, uploading content, or otherwise using the platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not use the platform. If you use the platform on behalf of a business, educational centre, or other organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that entity.

2. Nature of the Platform

YourFavTeacher operates a digital platform for educational discovery, profile presentation, lesson requests, messaging, tutoring materials, and related tools. The platform may support online and in-person lessons, but this does not by itself make YourFavTeacher a party to the lesson arrangement between users unless expressly stated for a specific product.

Tutors and businesses act independently. Nothing in these Terms creates an employment, agency, partnership, or joint venture relationship between YourFavTeacher and any tutor, student, parent, guardian, school, or business user.

• We do not guarantee that any tutor, business, student, or request will result in a successful match, booking, lesson outcome, exam result, or educational improvement.
• We do not guarantee that every profile, review, verification badge, uploaded document, or public statement is complete, current, or suitable for your particular needs.

3. Eligibility, Accounts, and Security

• You must provide accurate account information and keep it updated.
• You are responsible for the confidentiality of your login credentials and for activity under your account unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
• You must notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access, impersonation, account compromise, or misuse.
• If a student is a minor, the parent or legal guardian remains responsible for supervising the use of the platform and for decisions relating to contact, booking, payment, lesson attendance, and personal data disclosures.

4. Profiles, Roles, and Public Information

Users may create profiles in roles such as student, tutor, educational business, academy, or other role that the platform may support. Public tutor and business profiles may appear in search, filters, recommendation modules, or curated placements depending on profile completeness, verification status, moderation status, plan status, and platform rules.

A public profile, badge, ranking, placement, or recommendation does not mean endorsement, certification, or legal guarantee by YourFavTeacher. It reflects platform rules, moderation outcomes, or commercial and editorial logic as applied at a given time.

• You must not create fake, misleading, duplicate, or impersonation profiles.
• You must not describe qualifications, licences, work history, or teaching rights inaccurately.
• You must not upload placeholder, offensive, unlawful, or misleading profile photos, bios, or marketing claims.

5. Tutor and Business Responsibilities

• Tutors and educational businesses remain solely responsible for the lessons, services, materials, promises, pricing, schedules, taxes, invoices, receipts, permits, and legal compliance associated with their own activity.
• They must ensure that their lesson offers, materials, and communications are lawful, accurate, and appropriate for the students they target.
• They must comply with applicable consumer, tax, privacy, intellectual property, child safety, and educational rules that apply to their activity.

6. Student, Parent, and Guardian Responsibilities

• Students, parents, and guardians must assess whether a tutor, business, lesson format, material, or request is appropriate for their needs.
• They must use their own judgment before sharing contact details, booking sessions, making payments, uploading information, or relying on materials.
• Parents and guardians remain responsible for supervising minors, including online lesson environments, communications, and any personal data shared through the platform.

7. Requests, Messages, Contact, and Off-Platform Arrangements

The platform may allow users to post requests, exchange messages, receive proposals, or unlock contact details under certain rules. We may limit, reorder, hide, or moderate requests, messages, and contact workflows for safety, abuse prevention, commercial policy, or product design reasons.

Any lesson, meeting, payment, or agreement entered into between users remains their own responsibility unless we explicitly provide a platform-managed transaction for that feature.

8. Materials, Uploads, Files, and AI-Assisted Tools

Users may upload or publish texts, files, documents, images, profile photos, lesson materials, notes, or other content. By uploading content, you confirm that you have the necessary rights and permissions to do so and that your content does not infringe third-party rights or applicable law.

We may use automated systems, including AI-assisted moderation or safety checks, to review uploads, profile photos, materials, and other content. These systems may flag, delay, reject, remove, or restrict content. Manual review may also be applied.

• You must not upload unlawful, infringing, abusive, pornographic, hateful, defamatory, fraudulent, or misleading content.
• You must not upload malware, harmful code, or files intended to disrupt the platform or compromise users.
• You must not publish tutoring materials unless you have the necessary ownership or licence rights.
• AI-assisted outputs and automated checks may be imperfect. Users remain responsible for reviewing content before relying on or publishing it.

9. Verification, Reviews, and Trust Signals

YourFavTeacher may offer identity checks, qualification checks, review moderation, trust badges, profile completeness scores, or related indicators. These tools are intended to improve platform trust and discovery, but they do not amount to a guarantee that a person, document, qualification, or statement is genuine, current, complete, or suitable for your needs.

Reviews and ratings reflect user opinions and may be moderated, delayed, hidden, or removed where necessary for policy, legal, safety, or abuse-prevention reasons.

10. Plans, Subscriptions, Credits, Promotions, and Beta Access

YourFavTeacher may offer free plans, paid plans, credits, premium placements, subscriptions, trial access, promotional access, or manually granted access. Availability, pricing, features, billing methods, and eligibility may change over time.

During beta, pilot, manual onboarding, or promotional phases, we may lock certain paid features, suspend automated billing, or grant plans manually or free of charge at our discretion.

• Unless expressly stated otherwise, subscriptions renew, pause, upgrade, downgrade, or terminate according to the active pricing and billing rules shown at the time of purchase or activation.
• Credits, promotional grants, or manual upgrades may be non-transferable, non-refundable, time-limited, or subject to specific usage rules.
• We may suspend or reverse access to a plan, credit balance, or premium feature where there is abuse, error, fraud, chargeback risk, policy breach, or legal necessity.

11. Intellectual Property and Licence

The platform, its design, code, databases, content structure, trademarks, logos, rankings, editorial selections, and non-user content belong to YourFavTeacher or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

By uploading content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, format, display, moderate, distribute, and otherwise use that content as necessary to operate, promote, secure, and improve the platform, subject to our Privacy Policy and applicable law.

12. Prohibited Conduct

• Impersonation, fake identities, or fake qualifications.
• Scraping, automated harvesting, bots, or systematic extraction of platform data without permission.
• Circumventing platform rules, moderation, billing restrictions, or technical protections.
• Abusive, discriminatory, defamatory, threatening, harassing, or unlawful communications.
• Manipulating rankings, reviews, badges, placements, or trust signals.
• Uploading infringing or unsafe files, or using the platform to spread malware, spam, or fraud.

13. Suspension, Delisting, and Termination

We may suspend, restrict, delist, hide, moderate, or terminate accounts, profiles, uploads, listings, requests, or access to features where we reasonably consider this necessary for safety, abuse prevention, compliance, operational integrity, product design, or risk management.

We may also refuse publication, remove visibility from search and SEO surfaces, or limit premium placements where a profile is incomplete, misleading, unverified, non-compliant, or low trust.

14. Availability, Changes, and Third-Party Services

We may change, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the platform, including features, plans, scoring models, moderation rules, availability logic, or integrations, at any time.

The platform may rely on third-party providers such as hosting, authentication, storage, messaging, payments, analytics, AI, or support tools. Their services may affect platform availability and some of your interactions may also be governed by their own terms and policies.

15. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the platform is provided on an 'as is' and 'as available' basis. We do not warrant uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, perfect moderation, perfect matching, or specific educational outcomes.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, YourFavTeacher is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost revenue, lost profits, lost opportunities, or reputational harm arising from use of the platform, user conduct, lessons, bookings, materials, or third-party services.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.

16. Privacy, Cookies, and Data Protection

Our Privacy Policy and Cookie-related notices form an important part of how the platform operates. By using the platform, you acknowledge that personal data may be processed as described in those documents and in accordance with applicable data protection law.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Where required, we will notify users through the website, product interface, email, or other appropriate means. Continued use of the platform after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.

18. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Greek law, unless mandatory consumer or other mandatory legal protections require a different rule.

Any dispute relating to these Terms or the use of the platform shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Athens, Greece, unless mandatory law requires otherwise.
